Meet Lauryn

Lauryn is a Rhode Island native, dedicated community advocate, and HR professional with deep family roots in Cranston. Inspired by her grandfather, a former Cranston City Councilman, Lauryn offers a strong commitment to public service and community improvement. Lauryn earned her degree in Anthropology and Sociology from Roger Williams University and is currently pursuing a law degree at the law school. Lauryn runs a successful HR consulting firm, focusing on enhancing employee engagement, building people-first focused companies and managing employment law. She is a service-minded individual providing exceptional support to the employees she works with.

An avid runner, Lauryn is often running various routes around the city and credits the sport to much of her tenacity and determination to approaching life. She has completed 5 marathons, over a dozen half marathons and countless other races. She loves a challenge and is not afraid to tackle anything that comes her way. Besides running, Lauryn enjoys bird-watching at Meshanticut Park and often connects with people around the park about the unique bird species seen there.

Prior to running for city council, Lauryn has volunteered for numerous organizations whose missions inspire her from environmental clean ups to refugee resettlement. She is also an active member of the North East Anthropological Association. She is passionate about ensuring Cranston’s residents have safe and accessible places to recreate, the preservation of our natural green spaces, and community building.

Since moving to her home in Cranston with her husband and dog Lola, Lauryn has been actively involved in local initiatives, particularly around green spaces and public access, and is now running for Cranston City Council - City Wide to bring fresh perspectives and dedicated leadership to the community. Lauryn is dedicated to providing the residents of Cranston transparent, accessible and accountable leadership she believes the city needs.
